Youth Club
Bosley Youth Club sadly not running at present
Monday 18:30-20:30 in the school, from year 3 upwards, DBS registered
The youth club began in 2015 after an initiative by Verena Breed the vicar at that time. Verena led a home group in the village in the home of Sylvia and Ron Jenkinson. During these sessions Jenny Ratcliffe and Sylvia recognised an opportunity to set up a village youth group
Training was provided by the Youth Fed and we were invited to the Fermain Club a youth group then running in Macclesfield. We gained better understanding of how to run a group and they gave us some equipment. The Youth Fed area trainer gave us some insights and all the documentation for running a group.
The diocese then accepted the responsibility for the youth club, and we began in March 2015 with Suzanne Revill as treasurer and Sylvia Jenkinson as chair and Jenny Ratcliffe as secretary.
Initially the youth club met on Friday evenings at 6.00 till 8 pm latterly we changed the night to Monday and meet from 6.30 to 8.30 during term times.
The age range is from year 3 at primary school with no upper limit members can attend from any school. Numbers are fairly constant at 15 -20 attending and a lot more during events. The club events spill over into the holidays with games on the green and water fights. Overall the youth club has had a cohesive effect within the community which spills over into church life too.
